Salute the Artist
“The journey has been tough. Soldiers fell along the way. But because of the Love for what I do, I'm still here to this day” - Linton Kush
Born in the parish of St Mary in a town called Jack's River off the coast of Oracabessa, Bruce attended Jack's River Primary School followed Oracabessa High School.
Being surrounded by music was nothing new as a Jamaican; if it wasn't him, it was a family member or the neighbour's stereo system on the lawn - There was a vibe guaranteed somewhere.
At that time, it was all about the flow and the rhythm for him and at the age of 17/18, he started gravitating to the lyrical side; It was when he left Jamaica for the UK at 19 that he started writing his own material.
Predominately a Reggae Dancehall artist, the love of music in itself has seen Linton stretching boundaries of versatility.
Searching for his musical identity Kush started out under the name black-Ice, the black referencing his skin colour and Ice because he saw himself as a cold lyricist; coupled with the idea of ice on the road, Linton added "When you see me it's too late".
He quickly realised that there were a lot of artists by the same name, so added the 'Almighty' before realising that it wasn't the name that was going to define him as an artist anymore.
With Linton being part of his birthname and barz as potent as the herb, LINTONKUSH was born.
